Orion is a desktop app. Your data lives on your machine — not ours.

Orion runs entirely on your device. Your prompts, collections, and API keys never leave your machine and are never transmitted to our servers. We have no cloud sync, no telemetry, and no analytics. The only time Orion contacts our servers is to check for updates and, if you have a paid license, to validate it.
Orion does not collect, transmit, or store any data from your use of the application. This includes:
When Orion checks for a new version it sends an anonymous request to orionapp.dev/api/version/latest. This request contains no identifying information — no device ID, no license key, no IP address is logged or retained.
If you have purchased a Solo or Crew license, Orion sends your license key to orionapp.dev/api/licenses/check to confirm validity. We store the license key and activation count, but nothing else about you or your machine. License purchases are handled by Paddle, who act as the merchant of record — see Paddle's privacy policy for details on payment data.
If you use the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, subject, message, and IP address at the time of submission. The IP address is retained for spam and abuse prevention. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and do not add you to any mailing list.
Orion stores your API keys locally using your operating system's secure credential storage. When you run a prompt, Orion makes requests directly from your machine to the AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) using your keys. These requests bypass our servers entirely — we never see your keys or the content of your API calls.
This marketing site (orionapp.dev) does not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising scripts. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tools. Standard web server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) may be retained for up to 30 days for security purposes, then deleted.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third parties involved are:
You can request deletion of any personal data we hold (contact form submissions or license records) at any time by emailing us at support@orionapp.dev. We will respond within 30 days.
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively reduce your privacy rights.
